Uniformed Troop Committee?

A local requirement for the Troop Committee to be uniformed for a BoR is a
luxury that few troops can afford. If your troop can, go for it; otherwise I
can't think of a better way to lose valuable committee members.
I can think of 1 good reason for the guy who stopped by the Scout meeting on
his way home from work after a 12 hour day at the office to wear a uniform
for the BoR; I could really bore you with all the reasons he need not be
uniformed. Not the least is the poor Tenderfoot who walks in and sees the
Eagle medal on your chest, both sleeves and littered with patches, OA Arrow
and Vigil Pin, Philmont and Jambo patches and a Silver Beaver hanging from
the neck with woodbadge beads and an OA necklace. The poor kid can't
remember why he came in much less what to say to pass the Board. It doesn't
do a whole lot for the bare shirted adults' ego either.
'Course it is the time of year to look like a Christmas tree!.
