Glad you tried the gismo and that it turned out well. Yes, I do keep the
heat up by keeping the towers filled most of the way up. Since you've
tried it you know that you can kind of guage the heat by simply putting
your hand near the turkey....if you can't keep it there very long, you've
got good temp. We keep our charcoal in a plastic tub (no bags to get
soggy) with our shovels and starters, so I don't know if 50lbs is a good
figure but I would guess that sounds about right.
