I've been reading the discussion on this and I've got a novel idea--let the
Scouts decide. Start out with a new-Scout Patrol, if that's the way you
work, and then let them decide how they want to continue.
We have mixed-age Patrols--not my choice, but theirs. A couple of months
ago we completely re-organized Patrols--again, not my idea but theirs.
For different Troops, at different times, one type of Patrol will work
better than another (but which type of Patrol is subject to change).
