Happy Thanksgiving fellow scouts & scouters
Mike Walton quoted a District "letter on Eagle Boards. The only part I
found particularly curious is the portion below:
>Therefore, wear your best Sunday or church shoes
>along with a pair of matching socks. No, we will not check your socks, but
>try sitting somewhere without having anyone to see what color or kind of
>socks you are wearing."
Now, I get the socks part (even if I have known some people who *ALWAYS*
wore mismatched socks....on purpose). But what puzzles me is the shos part.
On the uniform inspection sheets (wish I had one here), it says something
about appropriate outdoor footwear. Whenever I have been involved in
uniform inspections, that has always been interpreted to be hiking
boots/sneakers/walking/running shoes. Actually my wife has commented upon
my wearing the hiking boots to Courts of Honor ("Do you really have to wear
those shoes?" -- Part of my answer is that they are the most comfortable
shoes I own!).
So would someone either with the inspection sheet or Insignia Guide handy
quote what it says about shoes? Thanks!
Happy and safe Thanksgiving to you all (you are part of my list of what to
be thankful for!).
