In my unit, BOR's are held once a month on the same night as the troop
meeting. The date is set in advance and is on the calender.
We do require that the boy call the advancement chair ahead of time to ge=
on the "schedule" (the advancement chair doesn't usually attend the regul=
meetings). The uniformed leaders verbally follow-up with the scouts afte=
the Scoutmaster's conference to make sure that they call.
Based upon what others have written, I'm thinking of recommending that we=
set up a "sign up" list that the boys can write their name on when they
complete the SM conference. We have a "mailbox" system (a rubbermaid
filing bin with hanging folders for each scout, leader, and committee
person). We can make a folder for "Board of Review" (separate from the
advancement chair's mailbox) and keep the sign-up sheet there. =
While there is a regular schedule for our reviews, the advancement chair
will accommodate any scout who has a special need.
