There is no right or wrong length of time for completing Bobcat. That
said, we do want to encourage the Cubs to do it as soon as they are
capable of it. The requirements are designed to get them introduced to
Cub Scouting and it works best if they get it done fairly soon after
joining. Some Cubs will have learning problems and for them it will take
longer. Some families may take awhile to get the book. So many things
can work into it.
This is also a good place to start helping the parents understand that
this a family program and to ask them to help in the process. For Wolf
and Bear Cubs it is appropriate for a parent to sign off on Bobcat
requirements being met. For Webelos it is up to the Den Leader to sign.
