How long for rank

Hello fellow Scouters and those wiser than I,
I have been flooded with replies to my post concerning a Scout making
rank in only 2 months. I have talked to the mother of said Scout and
have tried to explain where we go from here. I have also continued to
encourage him in earning his Religious emblem since the family is very
involved in church. If he does earn it it will be the first one earned
in our pack.
Several of you got the impression that I wanted to hold the boy back.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE! I only wanted to know if this situation was normal
and how to keep up interest in Scouting. There were also an awful lot of
you that pointed out a mistake on my part in saying that Arrow Points
couldn't be earned until after rank was achieved. I will make some sort
of announcement at the pack meeting about my boo-boo. We just haven't
decided if we should make it a from this point forward thing or
retroactive through the whole last year. Our pack just turned one.
YEAH! We made it.
We will be convening a court at our next pack meeting to bring this boy
up on charges. Charges like showing great Scout Spirit, earning rank in
record time, and anything else we can think of to charge him with. We
will then invite his parents to come represent him and his sentence will
be something along the lines of wearing the badge of the Wolf proudly and
always remembering the Cub Scout promise and Law of the Pack etc....
We're still working on this, but I think you get the idea.
Thank you all for your suggestions, advice, and words of encouragement.
We are still learning. This is THE BEST resource I have ever had.
Thanks for pointing the way Barry.
