My pack also had the same problem, and as Terry mentioned in his response,
"you may end up as Cubmaster", was very true in my case.
We had parents complain about how boring the meetings were, just awards and
a few skits. I told them if they did not like the way it had been done in
the past they should volunteer their time to improve it!. So... this year I
became Cubmaster. What I did was assign each den to act as a "host" den for
each pack meeting. They were to involve as may adult members of their den
in the planning and have them particpate with the boys in skits, songs and
such. Each den sets the theme for "their" month and coordinate it with the
other dens so they can get in on the fun too.
We have had two pack meetings so far this year, and it seems to be working. The
boys enjoy watching their parents act silly, and love to be in the skits
with them. As it turns out everyone is enjoying the pack meetings more.
