Yes! We made 35pr....yes, thirty-five pair of shoes last year. I will
tell you though, it is a VERY long, space and time consuming project.
I have the patterns if you want me to mail them to you. You will
need lots of equipment (you have to boil eight-foot strips of ash) and
need to make jigs that hold the wood bent in two directions. It is NOT
for the faint-hearted. The entire process took us about three months!
It is also not cheap. I think we charged each scout and leader about
45 bucks. The lacing process is fun but time-consuming. I think we
started making about 55 pr and ended up with 40-45.
We still talk about the "snow shoe project" as one that lives on
and on in our collective troop memory!
