Time Off for Good Behavior

Sorry about changing the subject line, but a whimsical mood drifted by.
I mentioned the paid time off for volunteering to our HR manager and she
said to print out the articles I got off the net and she'd see what she
could do. I've only seen on this list a couple of vague references to
"some big companies do it" and except for the armed forces and BSA, no
companies' names were mentioned.
Does anyone know for sure of any companies that have some type of
program in place? I don't know if our company wants to be a leader in
this area, although I'll probably suggest that.
Also another suggestion I'll be bringing up is an "hour for an hour"
program. This would be where the company gives an hour of comp time for
every hour the employee spends volunteering. There would have to be
limits, but this is just my starting point. Any ideas?
