Forgive the posting to both lists, but this is one easy way for scouts
to help others in need. Each year Houghton Mifflin Interactive sends a
copy of their book The Polar Express to hospitalized children. I have
copied their web page describing the program.
Begins November 15, 1997
Join the Third Annual Polar Express Share the Spirit Campaign and help
Houghton Mifflin Interactive bring the magic of The Polar Express to
The campaign invites you to spread the spirit of the holidays on the web
by sharing your stories on this site. Tell us about a tradition that
helps you keep the holiday spirit alive or share a favorite holiday
memory. For every 25 stories posted to the campaign bulletin board,
Houghton Mifflin Interactive will donate a copy of The Polar Express to
a children's hospital.
This year's goal is to receive 100,000 stories, so come back on November
15 (and spread the word!) to share the spirit of the season.
The address for their home page is: http://www.polarexpress.com. Last
year, I found out too late about it, but plan on being in there early
