Sometimes the boys *will* be working on a merit badge alone, for whatever
reason that comes about.
My son's best friend is working on a merit badge that I'm a counselor for.
He called and arranged to come over. He came by himself. (Don't panic, my
kids were there). We went over the stuff, and when we were done, I told him
that he needs to make sure that one of his parents goes with him when he meets
with counselors, if he doesn't have a buddy doing it with him. I was this
boy's den leaders from tigers until he trooped up. He and CJ are constantly
in and out of each other's house. I explained the rules were in place to
protect him *and* the adults.
Sometimes the boys need to be reminded, sometimes the parents need to be
reminded. Since this boy spends the night at our house, my kids are over
there, I'm sure his parents didn't think twice about it. I just wanted to
make sure that he knew what he needed to do when he arranged visits.
