If you get the latest issue of Backpacker magazine, they're covering the
winter camping issue pretty well. Show your scouts the picture of the
guide throwing boiling water in the air only to have it freeze before it
hits the ground. Then read them the part where one Arctic explorer's
teeth cracked because of the -70deg F temperature. I bet every one of
them closes their mouths and runs their tongues across their teeth.
Up here in NH, I see 40 degrees as nice sleeping weather. Can't wait
'til spring when it gets that warm again. :>)
