I agree 100%!! YESSS!!!!
Being active in various Scouting events where $$$$ are handed to the
advisor for the event - dues - misc. things -- etc., the MORE POCKETS
AVAILABLE THE BETTER: registration goes in one pocket -- notes go into
another -- money another; during OA Ceremonies each character knows that
watches and other jewelry are not appropriate and individual pockets are
great for safe keeping of others belongings.
I am not one for toting a back pack -- purse -- or an over stuffed fanny
pack. The more pockets the better. I still wear my old and well used
pants with the cargo pockets.
Changes that happen in uniforming are because of tried and true causes.
If we as Scouters take the time to voice our opinions to the National
Office and explain why we like or dislike something and back it up with
reasoning -- instead of complaints -- the paid professionals do listen.
Therefore changes happen.
The Boy Scout Program has worked because of volunteers with the support
of paid professionals. The changes we see are because of us volunteers.
If enough of us Volunteers complain enough or enough of us have an idea
that is somewhat universal -- changes happen.
Instead of being confused or upset with changes -- roll with the new
ideas -- try them and state why you like or dislike them. Write your
thoughts and MAIL them to the National Council Office. Make sure you
direct them to the proper division. It doesn't help to complain within a
small group. We as Volunteers need to reach out and touch National with
What are your needs? If enough of us share the same need -- changes will
happen. It is called KNOWING AND USING YOUR RESOURCES.
Just my thoughts and opionion!
