Thanks to everyone who sent me advice about the Tiger Paws not staying on.
I was able to pass some suggestions on at Roundtable and I intend to let
my tiger den know about it tomorrow at our pack meeting.
Additionally, I will bring it up at our next district meeting.
I am extremely happy to report that our district had elections last week and
I get to stay on as Cub RT commish! I hate November elections knowing that
I serve at the discretion of the district commissioner. Everyone always
tells me not to worry, but until it's "official", I do. The staff has agreed
to stay on for another year. They're great and makes my job extremely
On a more serious note, the attention given to potential suicides on this
newsgroup has been great. I have been fortunate to be chosen to be a
"Faith Partner" for a 6th grade boy going through confirmation at our
church. My kids are also going through confirmation. We were instructed
at our adult meeting, to keep what the kids may tell us in confidence to
ourselves to help them have a feeling of knowing they can come to an adult
if they feel uncomfortable going to their parents or guardians. EXCEPT, if
the child even jokingly talks about hurting themselves. If this happens we
are to get hold of one of the ministers ASAP and let them handle it since
they are trained to deal with this.
