Policy, Organisation & Rules states that the kilt may be worn by male
members entitled by descent to wear the tartan (Scots) or Safron kilt
(Irish). The exceptions are that Air and Sea Scouts may <not> wear the
kilt with specialist uniforms.
In addition, in Scotland <all> members ( other than Sea and Air Scouts )
may wear the kilt. If not entitled to a family tartan they may wear the
Scout Tartan. Female members may waer a tartan skirt provided the tartan
is not " cut on the cross "
