Amy Caswell asked about themes for Blue and Gold:
Have you considered the Middle Ages. We built a theme around "Knights
of Yore." We got quite a bit of support from our local Society for
Creative Anachronism group. They like to do demonstrations and displays.
They helped with decorations: Banners and such.
They had a display for people to view when the arrived.
They had jugglers, story tellers and poets.
They had some knights in armor do battle.
They had some lords and ladies dancing and even got some audience
There was much merrymaking and revelry.
And, we held a royal court for presentation of awards the the cubs.
They came in costume and played their characters well all evening, including
eating without utensils!!! They were amazed at those things people stuck
in their mouths!!
