Hank (and all)-
Shish kebabs-meat, potatoes, veggies on sticks.
Garbage eggs-in a big pan, put some butter or oil, eggs, potatoes, precooked
meat chunks, veggies and anything else that comes to mind. Cook to desired
doneness. (Our favorite is eggs, hash browns, ham, cheese, onions, and
jalapenos.) Can be covered with ketchup, gravy, or ranch dressing.
Fish on sticks-gut fish, leave skin, tail, head, on. Fill w/butter, garlic,
spices, close w/toothpicks, roast on a stick.
Spiderdogs-kids will love this one! Make two cuts on each end of a hot dog,
but not all the way through.(so the ends look like an X) Roast on a stick
over the fire and watch it curl up.
For the sticks, make sure that you use either the metal premade ones, or know
the type of wood that you are dealing with. I've heard that certain
varieties of tree branches shouldn't be used as cooking utensils!
I don't really use precise measurements on these particular recipes, because
they are more of an adjust to suit taste thing. I do have more, but you
caught me at work without my recipe database! <grin> Also, most of my
"outdoor recipes" are foil wrapped, Hank. Bet you've never had herb chicken
with wild rice while camping!
