Know a lady in a troop who received about 200$ from the Scout =
Insurance to help with a head injury during a scouting event. =
This money came as part of BSA membership. Check with your =
council's office, DE, etc on your insurance coverage.
My hope would be rather than using your insurance which serves
to raise the future cost to all us scouters that you take this
issue to your Troop Committee. Bite the bullet of accountability
as a Troop, and find a way for the Troop to pay for a poor practice.
I know (lots of teeth mashing) but Hey you are a team and each of us
leaders make mistakes like this from time to time.
Often wondered when this would happen to a troop I was in, which
is one of the reasons I like small convoys going to and from
scouting activities. Gives a sense of community on the road, and
helps insure we are buddies in case something like this happens.
Biggest convoy was in Cubs with over 50 cars for a couple of hours.
What a wonderment on those straight deserted stretches of highway.
YiS, IMHO, and may we each attempt to live the SO,SL,SS,SM
