When my son played County-sponsored Soccer, the only gear tht was
REQUIRED was cleats. The County provided a jersey to be worn at games.
Since he was goalie, we got him the shin whatsits the coach suggested,
but there was a box of equipment at the County office if he preferred to
use Professional-level equipment.
When I was in band, I don't recall that they cared what sox we wore so
long as we wore 'em. I know they didn't care when my uncle's kids were
Sure, 20 boys in Full Formal Dress Uniforms that match in every respect
look great -- particularly when lined up with the short ones in front and
the taller ones in back so even the belts are at the same level. Twenty
adult males in white tie look greet too, but would you join an
organization that wanted you to wear that every week? <G>
