What a wonderful thing to have around - Dad's old Cub uniform. It has
to be priceless and have a lot of family meaning.
While it might be appropriate for the Cub to wear it to a meeting to show
an old uniform or at a Scout Fair history booth as "costume", it is not
appropriate for him to wear as his own without stripping it of the
insignia that he hasn't earned the right to wear. Of course these
insignia are what make the uniform a real treasure. Much better for him
to hang onto as a keepsake of his father.
The other thing is that we want to promote the Scout being proud of
himself as opposed to being a shadow of his dad. This is best done with
his own uniform where he can show off his own achievements.
