As a National Park Ranger stationed at Arlington House inside Arlington
National Cemetery, I had the privilege of working this dedication
ceremony as a part of a team of Park Rangers providing information,
comfort and general support for the 40,000 plus attendees.
You may be interested to know that this Memorial (Women in Service to
America Memorial) acknowledged both the Doughnut dollies that we both
remember so fondly from our days in RVN and the members of the USO. Two
members of the American Red Cross were in the program during the "Rose
Petal Ceremony" as well as Connie Stevens and a staff member from the

If anyone wants to visit the memorial, it is open 364 days a year,
closed Christmas, as is the cemetery. October 1 through March 31 9:00
am to 5:00 pm, April 1 through September 30 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
