The problem in a nutshell in many troops. <G>
Our Troop stands ready to hold a BOR for any rank, short of Eagle, on
24-hours notice (and we've been known to shave that to 4hours). The boy has
only to pick up the phone and notify the SM.
If the boy cannot find time or incentive over a 6 month period to do
so, then perhaps he has failed to learn one or two important lessons
about responsibility and leadership? And perhaps, he does not "deserve"
to wear the rank he so clearly under-values?
