Last year one of my Tiger cub's little brother tagged along in the =
background to every meeting while his older brother had fun. Waiting =
for the day he too could wear the orange shirt and call himself a Tiger.
During the summertime den/pack swim at the local high school pool, all =
our boys were instructed by the pool life guard in the proper procedures =
for a drowning victim. Corey the Tiger soon-to-be participated in the =
A few weeks a go, Cory and his family visited some friends in the =
neighborhood and went for a swim in the backyard pool. While the adults =
talked up by the house, Cory and Caleb who is Three swam on a small =
raft in the middle of the pool. The boys fell off the raft, Caleb could =
not swim and started to panic and go under. Corey could not reach the =
raft. Corey remembered what the swim instructor had said. He proceeded =
to tell the Caleb, that he was going to save him and swam around the =
back of the boy, grabbing him around the chest from behind Cory kept =
telling the Caleb that he was going to be alright and that he was going =
to help him. Cory pulled the boy to the side and out of the pool as the =
adults came rushing to the side after hearing the commotion. =20
The adults in shock, asked Cory how he did that. Corey replied that he =
had learned it at the swim lesson this summer and jumped back in the =
pool as if nothing had happened.
Everyone is so proud of Corey.
Caleb's parents have called and requested that we recognize Corey at the =
Pack meeting this week.
This is where you come in, What should we do?
