I disagree, with one exception.
By the time a boy reaches Boy Scouts, he should know that socks must be
changed regularly, along with underwear, dirty shirts and muddy pants.
He should have enough sense to wash before meals, use deodorant and stay
out of poison ivy. We should not have to play nursemaid to boys who
have reached the age of 10 1/2.
The exception is a boy who is learning disabled or whatever other term
you prefer. That boy must be observed discretely and reminded to do or
not do things according to his needs.
