For a moment I thought I should recognize you since you accurately
described my troop. For the first 8 months, my wife became the ASM
for the new Scout patrol (she was their Den Leader) and went to BLT.
I became the Outdoors / Activities Chairman and went to Troop
Committee Training along with the new Advancement Chairman I
recruited. We tried to change things from the inside but found it's
very hard to make significant progress when both the SM and CC
are part of the problem. So I was beginning to think about shopping
around for another troop when the previous SM started talking again
about stepping down. Now I've been the SM for almost 2 years.
The committee, including the CC, are almost entirely new as are all
of the ASMs. It was a long and hard trail to turn the troop around and
we are still improving.
