I want to thank everyone who sent me information as well as the courage to
stand up and demand that JLT be done NOW!
Here is the solution that was reached.
The SM has already done the one-on-one with each officer going over their
job descriptions. Now we have scheduled a Troop JLT (phase 2) on November
8th. (This is the first open Saturday we have on the calendar) The SM is
in charge and all officers (read whole troop) is to attend.
In order to keep interference down from the ASMs and parents, they will be
in the back room and outside doing clean out and inventory of the storage
room which has been needed for over 3 years.
I would have really liked to use the idea of having the calendar planning
session right after the Phase 2 followed up with committee meeting (while
the enthusiasm level was high). Unfortunately one of the ASMs decided to
schedule it for today without letting anyone but the SPL know. (SM found
out on Monday when he said we needed to decide on time to do this) Because
of school holiday and prior commitments over half of the boys and the SM
I realize that these newly trained ASMs have high enthusiasm to get the job
done but it would really be nice if they would check with the SM before
going off on their own and deciding to do things. I just can't wait till
the next "surprise" pops up! :-(
Thanks again YIS - Ginger
