We had our CBLT on Sat. 10/4 and we were able to train 22 new leaders for
our district. The training went very well and the "majority" of the adults
were very "excited" when they left for the day.
One thing I would like to say is that we were short handed for the
training and when a "friend" of mine walked in "just to say hi"...... I asked
him to "help" he smiled but rushed home to put on his uniform and was there to
help us out for the day. In the middle of the day we were all talking and he
went on to say how much of an "impact" I have been on his scouting life since
he went to Jungle Book Training 3 years ago. I was his leader and helped him
though the weekend and he spoke with me several times afterwards and at
Roundtable. The "feeling" was so rewarding to me that even today I still am
feeling great. This is the BEST REWARD OF ALL. I am not bragging and I am
sure many of you reading have had a simular experience but this is WHY we are
here and continue to do what we can for the program and before long many
others will be in my shoes.
