I hope this doesn't come off as male bashing, but the reason women are so
entrenched as Boy Scout leaders is that in the not-so-distant past there
just weren't enough men stepping forward to fill that roll. Without the
women, Scouting could easily have died out. Thankfully that trend seems to
be changing - God bless you guys. Now women are in place and are here to
stay - God bless you gals. Together both genders will raise up a generation
of good-quality men and women.
Having said that, I will now say that I'm dismayed that a VERY FEW female
leaders I've run into don't help the cause by dressing in skin-tight jeans,
spandex or "Daisy Duke" shorts in their Scout uniforms. I've also seen male
leaders wearing "Big Johnson" and "Bevis & Butt-head" t-shirts. I've seen
BOTH genders smoking in front of the Scouts and using inappropriate language.
Instead of worrying about GENDER, lets worry about QUALITY.
