Each Eagle Palm requires:
* An additional 3 months of activity
* A demonstration of leadership or improving leadership
* 5 additional merit badges.
* Demonstration that you live by the Scout Oath.
Unlike Star and Life, there are no defined jobs for demonstrating or
improving leadership. There are no service hours required.
My stepson has just earned his fourth palm (Silver and Bronze) and on
the 12 week anniversary he will earn his 5th (Silver and Gold). At that
point he will need to get busy again, because he will have used up his
"surplus" merit badges.
I really wish National would revise the Eagle Palms because I see many
boys who have their Silver Palm (36 merit badges) wearing all the palms
on their ribbon (signifying that they earned 51 merit badges).
