I think some of you are not reading the requirements for Eagle correctly.
It is not a leadership position but a POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY. If the
scout shows that he has fulfilled the position to the SM's satisfaction,
then that is it. If the SM does not inform the scout as to what the
position requires, the scout is under no obligation to do anything other
than what he is asked.
There was a thread some time ago that covered this. Many units make the
scout sign a paper that does let him know waht is required. And it is
still up to the SM to decide if it has been met.
Why APL is not allowed and Chaplain Aide is, is a mystery. But we live
