I found out last week that one of the boys in my pack has a malignent brain
tumor. I have debated back and forth whether to post this to the list or
not with the following request. I have decided to follow my gut instinct
and ask for your help.
Gordon is currently a first year Webelos. He has been a member of the pack
since tigers. His mom has been his den leader since his Wolf days.
Gordon successfully underwent surgery, and they were able to remove most
of the tumor. He will be undergoing chemo treatments.
The prognosis looks good, and he is at home. When I contacted his dad to
see what the pack could do to help them, he informed me that Cinde would
like for Gordon to receive get well cards to help keep his spirits up.
We have a pack meeting this coming Tuesday, in which I will have one of
those hugh get well cards for everyone in the pack to sign.
I would like for Gordon to see how "big" Scouting can really be and am
asking you to send positivie, happy e-mails to me. I, in turn, will print
them out and send them to Gordon along with get well cards. I intend to send
him a card once a week while he is at home recovering. I don't know how
long that will be...but I think he would enjoy getting messages from this
group with a little something about scouting.
Please keep this scout and his family in your prayers.
