Speaking only for myself and son he was also "harrassed" of not earning
and/or being "pushed" in the same way. As I told my son "if the shoe fits
He and I both knew that HE did do it on his own and HE EARNED everything that
he has received to this day including Eagle in March. I am guilty of
"pushing/naging him to complete his religious award" but he has not even
began to start working on it. Although I am not a SM/ASM I am a Troop
as well as "wearing other hats" and I did take an interest in what he did
accomplish and "guide" him HE did the work. I did nothing more that what any
other adivisor would do or should do.
You and your son know if he has "earned it" or if it is "given" to him.
Although I to was very frustrated with the constant "talk" my son got though
it. It seems as though it bothered me more than him but when all was said
and done....he is the Proud Eagle and I am the Proud Eagle Mom.
Hang in there..
I used to be a bear......and I will growl when I have to!
