Our Pack had our first Pack meeting of the year last night and it was my
first meeting as Asst. Cubmaster. Our current Cubmaster and Asst.
Cubmaster were kind enough to include me in the awards presentations.
Our pack has ~75 boys which most were quick active over the summer.
This caused numerous awards (2 Bobcat ranks, numerous Summertime
Activity pins, Tiger Tracks, Webelos pins, camp awards, etc.) to be
presented which is good, but time consuming. I felt like an extra wheel
and my wife, a Bear Den Leader, said that we looked like the three
stooges. She thinks that I should have done some ancillary functions
like answering parents questions (outside or in a far corner) and
keeping parents and siblings quiet (they were usually worse than the

because the Cubmaster will be leaving when his son bridges to Boy
Scouts. Having all the Asst.'s up front seems too much. What are your
