Being the wife of a military person,a former drill sergeant, recruiter, and
trainer of many soldiers, I am probably oversensitive. I'd just like to
remind everyone that not all people in the military are like the ones
currently in the headlines. And, as it has been the subject before,
scouting is NOT the military. Scouting has objectives and goals, and does
things certain ways. The military has different objectives and goals, and
has to do things differently. We may not agree with the military, but it
is a volunteer organization, no one has to join. This in and of itself,
makes it different from what it was like years ago, and it changes still.
Let's give the military the benefit of a doubt. None of us would like to
be stereotyped by the worst of whatever group we are associated with.
