To Pat and all,
An excellent source for this kind of information is "The Indian How
Book" by Arthur C. Parker. It includes authentic information on
American Indian crafts, customs, food and clothing, religion and
recreations. It is illustrated with 50 drawings.
It is a Dover book ISBN Nr. 0-486-21767-1. I got my copy at Borders a
year or so ago for $6.95. The LofCCC Nr. is 74-18592. You might find a
copy in a library but it really is worth having your own.
Dover also offers a number of other books on Indian culture which might
be of interest including: "Handbook of American Indian Games" Nr.
24837-2, "Indian Boyhood" Nr. 22037-0, "Indian Scout Craft & Lore" Nr.
22995-5. Best of all most Dover books are bargain priced in comparison
to most books these days!
Good Luck, Jess
