One problem on Cub Camp is the kids always fight over their silverware.
So we collected thirty sets of knives, forks, spoons etc. which we used.
That way time and tempers were saved. And since the Scout Group ran the
Jumble Sale we got everything completely free.
I don't know it works elsewhere, but we put an ad in the local paper with
a number asking for donations and put flyers through doors. People phone
the number in the ad and we collect the goods the week before the sale.
Then on the day we put up the tables in the church hall and set up the
stalls. The kids help. One thing they do is make the refreshments. Some
are in the kitchen making tea and coffee, others go around with trays
collecting the empties. Sometimes we barbecue burgers and hot dogs for sale.
