We backpack for high adventure and the scouts really like it. We have
about three training warm-up backpacks: 10 miles, 20 miles, 20 miles
and then a 6 day, 5 night backpack in Colorado. I think there are some
good backpacking areas in California; but going to Colorado would also
be a neat trip. In Durango Colorado you can ride a narrow gauge steam
driven train to Needleton Mountains, backpack into Chicago Basin, and
then do a non-technical climb of !4,000 foot Sunlight peak.
Let me know if this sounds like a possibility and I will be glad to
give you some ideas and pointers.

P.S. We began a mountaineering program last year and it should be
going pretty good this year with repelling, ascending and zip lines.

Hi All !
Troop 772 of Laguna Niguel needs some help with its Venture Program. Has
anyone out there had an outing that you would like to share
with us in order to make our program more exciting?? Some of our senior
have mentioned that we "never do anything new and exciting". We rock climb
and river raft, but the kids want some new ideas!!! Any help??
California proximity would be best for starters, but we are adventerous! (are
trying to be anyway). Please e-mail me personally if you would like!
Thanks a bunch
