For several years, our troop has sponsored a "Patrol of the Month"
contest for patrols and venture crews to spur attendance and
In the monthly contest, each patrol or crew receives "points" for
attendance at troop meetings, campouts, Eagle Courts of Honor, service
projects, etc. The reward for the monthly winners is an all-you-can-eat
pizza party paid for by the troop. Fortunately, this has not been a
strain on our troop budget as a local pizza parlor has a nice
all-you-can eat buffet at a reasonable price.
Recenly, our PLC voted to select a "Patrol of the Year" based upon the
sum of the POM scores. The PLC has done some brainstorming but hasn't
been able to come up with an appropriate "award" or "reward" for our
Patrol of the Year. Most PLC members feel that some sort of special
activity would be an appropriate reward but the group hasn't been able
to come up with anything that is really special.
So my question to members of the list...Do you have suggestions for a
special reward, recognition or activity for our Patrol of the
