Hi, My Name is Bill Roswell, I am currently involved in Boy Scout
Troop 241, Tulsa, Oklahoma as the treasurer, assistant scoutmaster,
high adventure backpacking leader, and a patrol dad. I have been in
Boy Scouts about one year. I was previously involved in Cubscouts two
years. I have completed Basic Leader Training and am in
the process of completing my WoodBadge ticket.
We have a large troop, with 82 registered scouts and have detailed
scout accounts for each scout. I am using Quicken to manage the
treasurer function and I am in the process of converting to
Quickbooks. I tried Troop Ledger ,but the DOS version is very
cumbersome and didn't handle multiple accounts (Jamboree and normal)
for individual scouts very well. I just talked to the distributor of
Troop Ledger and they are working on a Windows version. How are other
people handling the finances of large scout troops?
I have a son, Chris in scouts, who just passed his board of review for
Star last night.
I hope to learn from and contribute to this forum.
