I always look forward to Cliff's post because he describes the Best in
>Take a whole chicken.
>Brush with melted butter.
>Take a whole lemon, slice, squeeze juice over chicken.
>Sprinkle generously with Lemon & Herb spice.
>Put leftover lemon peel & pulp inside chicken with slices of onion.
>Wrap in foil. Cook until done. 40-60 minutes.
Our Patrol did this ,when I was a boy, with TURKEYS. Only difference is we
put on two layers of foil, one layer of wet cardboard and two more layers
of foil. Dig a hole in the coals, stick the turkey in it then cover it back
with coals and cook for four hours.
Make sure Scouts DON'T poke the fire. I can still taste that juicy turkey.
I love this Scouting Stuff.
