South Florida Council holds an annual Showando in the fall. I don't have my
calendar with me so I can't say exactly when, but we will have one this fall as
well. The format is similar to what you specify with the participants rotating
through approx. 50 min. sessions on scoutcraft. (i.e. orienteering, cooking,
pioneering, backpacking, leatherwork/crafts, first aid, etc.) It is VERY
hands-on and is always a lot of fun for the participants. There are always more
sessions offered than time available so that the first half hour is used as a
sign up period for the days sessions. Once a class is full, you have to pick
something else, this also helps get everyone there on time/early. We end
earlier than y'all, usually around supper time (5-6 PM), but we miss out on the
campfire. I can see advantages to both. Good luck, and put on that Showando.
They're a blast!
