The Cougar Patrol in our Troop decided to make dump cobbler for the whole
Troop (80 Scouts) to eat after the Campfire. They had never made cobbler
before so they didn't know how long to cook it. They cooked it for four
hours. What a mess. The whole Troop spent Sunday morning cleaning the 12
For as long as I was in the Troop (next three years), most meals were
compared against the "Cougar Cobbler". There was a skit at every campfire
where the punch line was "Cougar Cobbler". We used just about every Alka
Seltzer commercial that was popular at the time. Remember "I can't believe
I ate the whole thing!" or "Plop, Plop, fiz, fiz oh what a relief it is".
I often wonder if the Cougars finally live that down.
