Had a similar type of problem with a troop a while ago that I had joined.
It took the troop longer to unload the junk food and soda than to set up
the camp. Menus were pop tarts and tang, cup a soup, and macaroni &
The new Scoutmaster, another ASM and myself decided that we would not
starve on the campouts and started to make our own menus and cook....Took
about two campouts before we heard "you know that dutch oven thing you all
have been using, how can we get one of those?"
We just sat there are grinned!
Soon I had scouts challenging my creations at the campfire.......love it
when a plan comes together.
