Welcome back from Jambo!! My family and I had the opportunity to visit Jambo
on Wednesday and Thursday. The opening show was fantastic! My eleven year
old Second Class Scout's favorite was the Merit Badge Midway. The other
one's was the Military Action Center. My nine year old Junior Girl Scout
never got tired of being called "the cutest Scout on site." She was the
darling of the camp! The camp was very well organized and I am already
loking forward to the next one.
I come to the list with several requests for assistance. My son got into
woodcarving at summer camp. He was given a kit that included two blocks of
wood that were rough cut into the shape of a duck. He had to carve the
finish shape and paint the model. The painting instructions were included in
the kit. When we returned home and tried to purchase more at our Scout shop
we were told that they had been in inventory "forever", were no longer
available, and they had shipped them to summer camp "to get rid of them".
Any leads on where to get more?
I am still looking for the first edition of the Scout snowglobe. It has a
tent scene. I purchased the Eagle one at Jambo and really want the first.
When they were first released I ordered one from my Scout shop. I was told
that National said they were defective, had been returned to the
manufacturer, and would not be offered. Obviously my Scout shop was in
error. Now I must turn to my friends on the list. Has anyone seen one at
their local shop? Any leads are appreciated.
