We try to have one scout in each patrol who has to pass the cooking
requirement or cooking merit badge submit a menu 2 weeks before the
camping trip. If it does not meet with approval, then we work with them
on something a little bit better.
This year we are going to have a short cooking demo one meeting a month
(it should only take 10 - 15 min.) with copies of recipes available.
Also, this year, the adults will be cooking as a patrol. Each adult
prepares a meal. This is to "show off" cooking skills.
