Bruce, as one of the members of the net so correctly puts it, "if you
build it, they will come." Recruiting for anyone into scouts must offer
the individual that which they cannot get elsewhere. Boys taslking up
scoutings with their "chums" at school. Adults talking up scouting with
their friends. Make certain that activities are written up & submitted
to local newspaper. Search-out 2nd hand clothing stores for used Scout
uniforms to "GIVE" to those in need.
Our local college dean allows me a full poster board upon which I tack
items & photos of local Scouts in action-you would be amaized at the
favorable reaction that it has had. Also, I am the type that ask
youngsters if they are in Scouting, if not, "Why not?"
Make it a known adventure & they will come.
