The World Scout Crest indicates you are a member of a Scout organisation
in good standing with the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
Adults in BSA do not have a patch to indicate membership, unlike say the
Bobcat or Scout rank ... the World Crest <is> the membership badge, in
effect. The same applies here in UK where <all> members, youth and adult
wear the World Membership badge. The national flag indicates your
national affiliation, whether it is the US flag on the shoulder for BSA
or the Union Flag above the pocket for Scouts in UK.
When you complete Woodbadge you will become a member of the 1st Gilwell
Park Scout Group, which has members from every country where Scouting exists.
I hope one day you will make it " back to Gilwell " and meet fellow Wood
Badgers from all over the world.
Have a great course !
