With respect to nicknames, John Economides could have explored the issue
within our council and discovered the following.
1. The camp staff was informed of our no-nickname policy at the time of
their hire and during their training.
2. I am in possession of a copy of a letter to our Scout Executive from
the National Boy Scout Division, supported by Risk Management, that
strongly discourages the use of nicknames at our camps. Mr. Economides
could have seen a copy if he had asked the Council administration.
3. Additionally, Mr. Economides did not visit the camp in question, and is
therefore not in possession of the facts.
4. I think Mr. Economides owes the fine Executives of our Council an
apology for accusing them of scamming him.
