Almost true. Renumbered alphabetically by state then alphabetically by
"headquarters" city within the state. Transatlantic (Heidelberg) and
Far East (Tokyo) Councils (the Extraregional councils i.e. not part of
Regions 1 thru 12) just happened to get numbered last ( Councils 802 and
803 respectivelly). The Canal Zone (Council 801) was in Region 6.
Try calling the Tidewater Council, which serves Norfolk VA, at
Advisor Post 486
Who collects as much Scouting trivia as anyone and now leaves the list
for Fort A.P. Hill and Jambo 97.
